Dr What?

I was surprised to enjoy the return of Doctor Who last night. I did enjoy the original series in the '80s, but then I was just a nipper and what did I know? I actually detest anything remotely science-fictiony, but I thought I'll just see what this new series is like, and d'you know I actually quite liked it. I might even watch it again next week!

Can anyone recommend a good book? In the last month I must have started about 4 or 5 books, only to get bored at around the third-of-the-way-in mark and give up. Is it just a pregnancy lack-of-concentration thing??

Baby news

Just got back from having the first scan, and everything is fine. Have a very cute picture of baby which looks liek it's sucking its' thumb (although my dad says all those pictures look like that, so maybe they have a generic picture they give to everyone?!! haha cheers dad!). It all seems a bit more real now, I must say, as up to now I've been expecting someone to say I'm not really pregnant, and I just imagined it all haha.

No other news today, as I can't think about anything else!!!

Did I hear someone mention the word FOOD?

Well, the nausea is finally going away (mostly), only now I'm in a permanent state of ravenousness (is that a word?). Managing to keep a lid on it so far, although hubby has had to make me midnight toast on a couple of occasions! My favourite time of the week is Saturday morning, with its' 2 hours of cookery programmes!

Currently reading Want To Play? by PJ Tracy. I was interested to discover that PJ Tracy is not one person, but actually a mother-daughter writing duo. I'm only about 100 pages in, but it's pretty good so far.

Have just booked the flights for our summer holiday to Kosova, leaving on the 1st of June, so I will probably be a bit waddly by then. But when you're staying at your in-laws, you can just rest and relax. Not like a "sight-seeing" holiday where you feel compelled to be out and about doing stuff all day long. Will have to take some good books!

Busy busy

Oops can't believe it's almost a week since I posted. Been a bit too busy at work, supposed to be in today, but due to the impending exhaustion of being faced with 8 days off with no day off, decided to take the day off. Am starting to get organised with the great house-buying experiment! It's all a bit scary, mind. And I'm not sure I understand that much of it... solicitors, quotes, surveys... aah.

Am off work today due to lovely vomiting, or as hubby once learned from a charming London cabbie, spewing a ringer. Got a right grilling from Mrs Sympathy at work, but hey. Still feeling a tad ropey, and just had a cup a soup, which probably hasn't helped.

On a more positive note, got the phonecall this morning to say that we have been successfully accepted to buy the shared ownership house in Greenford. Yay! I know it's a long way off moving in there, but it's a step in the right direction.

NHS bans chocolate for staff! Right, with Mrs Sympathy, and now this, I'm never going back!!!
