Found this via Pete... The albums you think people should have heard (although not necessarily your favourite albums)...

The ones in bold are the ones I've heard, and I've added 3 on the end...although how you could pick albums you think people should have heard without them being your favourites is beyond me...

London Calling - The Clash
Think Tank - Blur

This Is Hardcore - Pulp
Moon Safari - Air
Elastica - Elastica
Never Mind The Bollocks Here's the Sex Pistols - Sex Pistols
OK Computer - Radiohead

The Kiss of Morning - Graham Coxon
Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars - David Bowie
Come From The Shadows - Joan Baez
The River - Bruce Springsteen
The Very Best Of Joan Armatrading - Joan Armatrading
What's Going On - Marvin Gaye
Metal Box - Public Image Ltd
Orbital #2 (The Brown Album) - Orbital
Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain - Pavement
Apple Venus Vol. 1 - XTC
Marquee Moon - Televison
Daydream Nation - Sonic Youth
I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You) - Aretha Franklin
No More Shall We Part - Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds
The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground & Nico
The Band- Northern Lights Southern Cross
Martin Stephenson and The Daintees- Boat to Bolivia
Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers- Rock and Roll With Modern Lovers.
Jeff Buckley - Grace
U.N.K.L.E. - Psyence Fiction
Craig Armstrong - Space Between Us

The Jeff Buckley album because it's in a word brilliant. A perfect album, no album, fillers. Unusual chord progressions, poetic lyrics, a genius at work. Probably the best album ever made, in my opinion.

The U.N.K.L.E. album because it's groundbreaking, and shows the impressive results of collaborations between dance / trip-hop musicians and indie-vocalists (like Thom Yorke and Richard Ashcroft). I like this album, as it's trying to do something a bit different.

The Craig Armstrong album because, in the words of a BBC producer who heard the album in our flat (when hubby was on "Watchdog", we had a music + wine break!), it's like an "aural spliff". Strings, beats, chilled out cool. A must-listen-to for fans of all genres.
